When the tensioner is worn to unusual dimensions, it can be repaired by welding or even replaced with a new one.
1). Keep SC550D-2 idler with the proper tension. Too tight under the action of the tensioner spring can lead to accelerated wear of the tensioner shaft, bushing, shoe and pin, and can lead to increased track shoe travel.
2). Keep the tensioner level. Failure to do so will result in abnormal wear on other undercarriage components (such as lower roller, upper roller, sprocket, track shoe).
